I do not ask for utopia, I ask for the maximum amount of truth. To suggest perfection is to suggest man is infallible. Any leader I could promote would also come with baggage. To that extent you are correct. And, I understand your reasoning for supporting Obama.
What I find unacceptable is not your reasoning for support. It is the ability for the political machine owned whole and completely by forces that do not want you to know what the ramifications of his policies truly are or their actual meaning. That in mind:
The best I can hope for is a political awakening over the next decade. One where emotions do not come into play in place of principle. And one where "Swift Boaters" cannot create propaganda so easily sucked up by the masses without scrutiny from the whole sum of voters.
